The Delilahs

Getting their start in the Minneapolis scene that spawned the Jayhawks, the Delilahs proffered a similar mix of folk, country, and rock & roll. The group was formed in the early 1990s by vocalist Aaron Seymour and guitarist Doug Youland; the remainder of the band took shape as Thomas Case (guitar, mandolin, harmonica), Tom Henderson (drums), and Wally Marx (bass) joined up from various other local groups. After being named Best New Band at the 1994 Minnesota Music Awards, the group's self-titled debut was released by October Records. Follow-up Dying to Build a Bridge expanded the group's sonic palette and appeared in 1995.
